Welcome back to school from your Winter Vacation! I hope you all had a wonderful and restful vacation. I enjoyed my vacation spending time with family and friends. I'm excited to start 2016 with a full heart and positive thoughts for the new year. I know that we have so much to look forward to for the rest of the school year and hope that you feel the same way too! :) The summer went by so quickly as usual! I enjoyed spending time with my family and friends. Over the summer, we celebrated my younger daughter's first birthday and my older daughter's 3rd birthday. We also visited my in-laws and cousins in Nevada and my family in Chicago. After a much needed vacation, I am ready and excited to start the new year! :) Our holiday festivities were so much fun. The students made so many beautiful crafts and decorations. Hopefully they made it home in one piece as well! I was so impressed with all the creative gingerbread houses and how hard the children worked on them. Our winter performance was awesome. I am so proud of all the boys and girls that did such an amazing job! I hope everyone has a wonderful Winter Vacation and I will see you in the New Year! Our Fall Festival was awesome! There were so many cute and creative costumes. The food was delicious and the games were fun. That giant slide on the field looked scary. Did any of you go on it? I didn't get a chance to check out the Haunted House, but I heard it was a hit. Thank you to all the amazing parents that volunteered their time and effort to help make our Fall Festival a huge success! What was your favorite part of the Fall Festival??? We had a exciting and exhausted day today! We visited the LACMA today with Mr. Melgar's class. The museum docents led us on a tour of the museum and we learned about a few art concepts such as lines, colors and backgrounds. We also saw many interesting paintings and sculptures. After lunch we explored the outdoor park areas surrounding the museum. We even got to walk under the giant rock sculpture. Then we visited the other side of the LACMA and saw the Metropolis II exhibit. All the kids enjoyed watching the cars zoom through the maze. I would like to send a huge THANK YOU to all the parents that volunteered and helped out with the field trip. I'm looking forward to our next field trip in a few months. We had an exciting first day of school with lots of parent participation. It was so nice meeting everyone! I'm looking forward to a wonderful new school year.
